People are often looking for unique items in app stocks such as the Apple App Store. To discover new applications, a whopping 70 percent of smartphone users use search boxes. Besides, 65% of all downloads happen immediately after a quest – the most popular approach for finding new apps in the search. The app’s search ranking role relates strongly to the number of downloads. In the search results, the higher the app ranks, the more important it appears to users. As users typically do not scroll through every search result, higher ranking apps also get more downloads.
