Android App is a piece of software designed to run on an Android device. Or software that comes pre-installed on your Android-powered device. Android applications are not necessarily only apps for smartphones. That goes for Android for smartphones, Android TV, Android Auto, and all other iterations of Android. Android apps can be written in Kotlin, Java, Flutter and C++ and are run inside Virtual Machine.
Android is an operating system for smartphones, tablets, and laptops from the Google-sponsored Open Handset Alliance. With about 85% of the worldwide smartphone market, Android is the leading mobile platform with myriad models to choose from. Connecting mobile and desktop platforms, there are more devices currently in use with the Android operating system than any other operating system. It is a highly intuitive system, which is used extremely efficiently. Android is an open-source operating system. This means that even competitors can download, install, modify, and distribute its source code for free.
Apps is an abbreviation of the word “applications.” Apps are software tools that provide additional functionality to an operating system. Android applications are officially available from the Google Play Store. Basically, the online store of Google for different software and applications is the main focus here. The Google Play Store app comes pre-installed on Android smartphones. Users also have access to Google Play Store via browser, and that means that you can install an app on your desktop without touching your smartphone. Android apps may be run on multiple devices. That’s why many companies have created their stores for app downloads.
App Inventor is open source software from Google for creating applications for Android.
Novice developers who want to play around with Android programming can make use of the App Inventor. A user can create an Android app using this online tool as if he/she were putting together pieces of a puzzle. It is a tool where users can easily create complex applications such as web browsers, stopwatches, media players, or games. App Inventor also contains an extensive set of components, which significantly accelerate the creation of complex projects.
